The National SPOT – Slovenian Business Point System offers a comprehensive system of support and free services provided for business entities by the state. Under the unified brand SPOT, institutions are united to offer assistance, information, and advice to companies, (future) entrepreneurs and business entities.
The services and activities of SPOT Svetovanje Gorenjska at BSC Kranj are implemented within the framework of the Public Call for the provision of comprehensive services for potential entrepreneurs and companies through support institutions for the period from 2023 to 2025 (hereinafter: public call) in partnership with:
- Development Agency of Upper Gorenjska (RAGOR),
- Development Agency Sora,
- Regional Chamber of Craft and Small Business Kranj, and
- Regional Chamber of Craft and Small Business Škofja Loka.
The purpose of the public call is to ensure an effective support environment that will provide free support services for target user groups throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Slovenia, and thus contribute to:
- strengthening entrepreneurial potential,
- accelerating the establishment of new businesses, including social enterprises,
- increasing the survival rate of newly established businesses,
- overcoming obstacles on the entrepreneurial path.
The objectives of the public call are:
- increasing awareness and knowledge to address challenges in the entrepreneurial path in all phases of the entrepreneurial cycle,
- increasing early entrepreneurial activities, and
- contributing to greater formation, improvement, growth, and development of companies.
The subject of the public call is the financing of the implementation of services and activities, free for the specified target groups, through institutions of the entrepreneurial support environment (SPOT points and incubators):
- events of promotion of entrepreneurial culture and information,
- basic SPOT consulting,
- entrepreneurial training events,
- entrepreneurial mentoring, and
- external expert advice.
In addition to the mentioned services, the consortium also performs other activities that are not intended for end-users but are necessary for providing services to end-users.
SPOT Svetovanje offers a comprehensive system of support and free services in the field of information, training, and advice to potential entrepreneurs and SMEs. Within the regional SPOT points, SPOT consultants operate, usually having the first contact with newly established businesses, providing them with basic information, directing new entrepreneurs to appropriate individuals and programs, conducting registration, deletion, and status change procedures for companies, and offering a wide range of basic support services or basic entrepreneurial advice and educational events for potential entrepreneurs and businesses.

Incubator services are aimed at supporting companies predominantly in the process of developing a business idea and assisting in realizing business models and plans for its implementation to support the growth and development of all SMEs, including social enterprises, in the region or environment where they operate. Business incubators organize various selection processes of business ideas, programs for the development of business ideas, encourage companies to innovative approaches, etc., and provide incubation space for target groups.
Entrepreneurial mentors advise and actively work with entrepreneurial groups showing a certain degree of innovativeness and moderate growth potential in domestic or international markets. They actively work with potential entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs in preparing business plans or business model canvases, advising them in the fields of marketing, business management, economic and legal matters, human resource management, corporate social responsibility, and social entrepreneurship, as well as energy transition, circular economy, adaptation to climate change, and risk management. When needed, they connect them with external experts.
The target user groups are potential entrepreneurs (individuals with an entrepreneurial idea) and SMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, including social enterprises, in all stages of development).
